P'tite Clède & Magnanerie

We live just outside the lively village Saint Paul le Jeune in a former silkworm farm, at the border of the Cevennes, Provence and Southern Ardèche. In Saint Paul le Jeune there are four "hameaus" to discover, they are situated on the hillside above the village at the border of the forest, these are clusters of very old houses with small, staired streets and old arched doors... 
 

In the direct surroundings you find rivers, forest, mountains and valleys with vineyards. Lots of possibilties for hiking, biking and of course swimming in clear water in rivers like Chassezac, Cèze and Ardèche.

 

Swimming spots you find at a 10/15 minutes drive from the house. 

 

Ideally located for visiting the Provence region (Pont du Gard, Avignon, Nîmes, Orange), the Cevennes national park, or even a day trip to the Mediterrenean Sea and the beautiful city Montpellier. 

 

The house is situated at the border of the forest. Hiking in the beautiful Cevennes starts just outside the house...

 

And at a 5 minutes drive you find the 'Grotte de Cocalière' , one of the three most beautiful caves in France. At a 20 minutes drive you find the spectacular "Caverne du Pont d'Arc" (UNESCO site),

 

Lots of outdoor activities on short distance: canoe, abseilen, speleology, hiking (GR), hanggliding, horseback riding, fishing etc. See also the page: 'LINKS'.

 

We work in the house next to the gite, where we have a workshop and little boutique (clothing and homedecor made out of recycled materials). We speak English, Dutch and French and we can provide you with all usefull information, where to go for markets, nice swimmingspots etc.
